Lisa Vereertbrugghen

Lisa Vereertbrugghen 1986) is a cho­re­o­grap­her, dan­cer and researcher. Since 2014, she has been researching hard­co­re tech­no dan­ce sty­les, which mani­fests itself in various forms: per­for­man­ces, lec­tu­re-per­for­man­ces, per­for­man­ce instal­la­ti­ons and publi­ca­ti­ons. She obtai­ned a Master’s degree in Cultural History (his­to­ry of the body) at KU Leuven and then stu­died cho­re­o­grap­hy at the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) in Amsterdam. 

Lisa usu­al­ly col­la­bo­ra­tes with Michael Langeder, Sophie Guisset, Vera Martins and Madison Bycroft, and works as a dra­ma­tur­ge, per­for­mer and cho­re­o­grap­her for various per­for­man­ce and visu­al artists bet­ween Brussels, Berlin and Amsterdam. She also tea­ches at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels.

Lisa’s most recent per­for­man­ces are Softcore — A Hardcore Encounter (2018) and DISQUIET — sen­sa­ti­o­nal aes­the­tics of a technokin (2021). She is cur­rent­ly wor­king on a new pro­ject, While we are here, sche­du­led for 2023

Her work has been shown at MDT (Stockholm), Oktoberdans (BIT, moun­tains), Rencontres Choréographiques (Paris), CA2M (Madrid), STUK (Leuven), BUDA (Kortrijk), Bâtard Festival (Brussels and Amsterdam), Showroom MAMA (Rotterdam) and CAMPO (Ghent), among others.
