Lisa Vereertbrugghen
Lisa Vereertbrugghen (° 1986) is a choreographer, dancer and researcher. Since 2014, she has been researching hardcore techno dance styles, which manifests itself in various forms: performances, lecture-performances, performance installations and publications. She obtained a Master’s degree in Cultural History (history of the body) at KU Leuven and then studied choreography at the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) in Amsterdam.
Lisa usually collaborates with Michael Langeder, Sophie Guisset, Vera Martins and Madison Bycroft, and works as a dramaturge, performer and choreographer for various performance and visual artists between Brussels, Berlin and Amsterdam. She also teaches at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels.
Lisa’s most recent performances are Softcore — A Hardcore Encounter (2018) and DISQUIET — sensational aesthetics of a technokin (2021). She is currently working on a new project, While we are here, scheduled for 2023.
Her work has been shown at MDT (Stockholm), Oktoberdans (BIT, mountains), Rencontres Choréographiques (Paris), CA2M (Madrid), STUK (Leuven), BUDA (Kortrijk), Bâtard Festival (Brussels and Amsterdam), Showroom MAMA (Rotterdam) and CAMPO (Ghent), among others.
