Inspired by the spaghetti-western genre and interwoven with familiar references, this research delves into today’s violence, the new imperialism, and contemporary questions of morality and ethics as it brings them to the theatre (with live music and live video).

Aurélie Di Marino and Renée Goethijn collaborate with a large group of performers and musicians, taking on the roles of cowboys and outlaws, the heroes and anti-heroes of the Spaghetti Western, as they search for a satirical and epic-historical deconstruction of post-war history. They make visible the invisible (neoliberal) doctrine in which we all live, critically interrogating the contemporary Western geopolitical reality, and setting against it a living, performative, and celebratory counter-propagandistic force.
