“She Spells Sea Shells on the Shea Sore” is a per­for­ma­ti­ve research pro­ject explo­ring the intri­ca­cies of ora­li­ty, vocal expres­si­on, and bodi­ly stra­te­gies. Specifically, it looks at the fema­le voi­ce and some of its cul­tu­ral line­a­ges in the west. Through a series of mini-sce­nes craf­ted from diver­se prac­ti­ces, the pro­ject aims to unra­vel the­mes of cor­res­pon­den­ce and non-cor­res­pon­den­ce, aiming to acti­va­te noti­ons of voi­cing, ani­ma­ting, agen­cy, and audi­bi­li­ty, and evo­ke the­se lay­ers’ poli­ti­cal implications.
