Monstrare et/​ou Monere is a solo that blends hip-hop dan­ce and con­tem­po­ra­ry research into the issue of ​‘mon­stro­si­ty’ as a form of phi­lo­sop­hy through the body. Where are the boun­da­ries bet­ween the ​‘nor­mal’ (nor­ma­ti­ve) body and a body that is per­cei­ved as defor­med, mon­s­trous? What con­tra­dic­ti­ons ari­se in the idea of the mon­ster? And what inno­va­ti­ve per­spec­ti­ves on sexu­a­li­ty or deep emotions?

Monstrare et/​ou Monere aims to unlock a mul­ti­tu­de of vie­w­points and insights in the vie­wer. The expe­rien­ce is both col­lec­ti­ve and high­ly indi­vi­du­al, becau­se the mon­ster is a cre­a­ti­on of per­so­nal ima­gi­na­ti­on and is simul­ta­neous­ly influ­en­ced by the ide­as and col­lec­ti­ve fic­ti­ons of a society.
