How do you pre­fer to be bit­ten? is a dan­ce per­for­man­ce that exa­mi­nes the rela­ti­ons­hip bet­ween mate­ri­a­li­ty and spi­ri­tu­a­li­ty through blood, the body’s sacred liquid. Suspended in a con­ti­nuous cir­cu­la­ri­ty bet­ween life and death, the work reclaims the vam­pi­re as an earth­bound, ero­tic, and deco­lo­ni­al figu­re. What kind of vam­pi­re resi­des in each of us? Can we be both guar­dians and pre­da­tors at once? 

Through blood-cho­re­o­grap­hies and South American vam­pi­ric ima­gi­na­ries, the pie­ce unfolds within a noc­tur­nal lands­ca­pe that wea­ves together expand­ed film, polypho­nic sin­ging and dance.
