Roel Heremans’ artistic career took shape after a serious accident and cerebral hemorrhages in the left hemisphere of his brain temporarily affected his perception. Since then, drawing in part on the theory of Iain McGilchrist, he has been exploring the differences between the two hemispheres of the brain and the various modes of perception. Based on this principle, he aims to develop several interactive sound installations to investigate social and future paradoxes. The project explores how technology, perception, and ethics converge, with an emphasis on the tension between human experience and digital systems.
