Work in progress: The Ferris wheel turns when the wind blows — Sana Ghobbeh

Sana Ghobbeh is an Iranian-born artist and art researcher based in Brussels. Her work focuses on the relationships between urban infrastructure and the sociopolitical history they carry within them. She draws from archives, old photos of the city, blue prints, maps, local testimonies, etc. to then allow this data to be transformed by the ongoing flow passing through the infrastructure’s space in everyday life. The result is a story-telling performance that transmits the discoveries of small poetic counter-actions that nevertheless can shake the stability of architectural elements favouring oppression.

In The Ferris wheel turns when the wind blows’ Sana introduces us to the private property of a historical figure. This particular plot of land is located in the Evin neighborhood that stretches from the northwest of Tehran to the foot of the Alborz mountains.
