Space for begin­ning artists during the sum­mer in the Brussels com­mu­ni­ty cen­tres: open call in col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with the ​‘Kunstenwerkplaats’ (artis­tic workspace)

Are you a pro­fes­si­o­nal artist or do you have plans to move in that direc­ti­on? Do you have a clear link to Brussels and are loo­king for spa­ce for your research or pro­ject? This sum­mer, the Brussels com­mu­ni­ty cen­tres are once again making some rooms avai­la­ble to artists free of char­ge. All dis­ci­pli­nes are welcome.

CONCRETELY

You will have a workspa­ce at a com­mu­ni­ty cen­tre whe­re you can devel­op your artis­tic pro­ject or research. You can spend up to 4 weeks the­re. No tech­ni­cal sup­port or remu­ne­ra­ti­on will be pro­vi­ded. But you can use the spa­ce for free. We will help you find the most suit­able spa­ce (see the list). At the end of the sum­mer, Kunstenwerkplaats will accept some of the resi­dents for a fol­low-up trajectory.

Interested? Register via the regi­stra­ti­on form (NL, FR or ENG) by Wednesday, 14 May 2024.

After 14 May, Kunstenwerkplaats, the VGC and the com­mu­ni­ty cen­tres will look at all the appli­ca­ti­ons. They will make their selec­ti­on and allo­ca­te the most suit­able and avai­la­ble spa­ces. You will recei­ve a pro­po­sal on 7 June 2024 at the latest. Ensure that you can be rea­ched by pho­ne in the week of 10 and 17 June.

We do our best to give eve­ry­o­ne a workspa­ce. If the­re are more appli­ca­ti­ons than spa­ces avai­la­ble, allo­ca­ti­on will depend on the artis­tic qua­li­ty of the pro­po­sal and the appli­cant’s artis­tic tra­jec­to­ry. We give pri­o­ri­ty to begin­ning artists with a clear link to Brussels and work that is open to the Dutch-spea­king cul­tu­ral field.
