Agathe Yamina Meziani

Agathe Yamina Meziani is a Belgo-Kabyle-Greek artist based in Brussels. Trained at the Conservatoire roy­al de Bruxelles and hol­ding a post-mas­ter in gen­der stu­dies, she cre­a­tes hybrid per­for­man­ces that blend the­a­tre, video, and per­for­man­ce. Her work explo­res memo­ry, iden­ti­ty, and repre­sen­ta­ti­on, nota­bly in ik ben in de dui­nen ver­lo­ren (2019 – 2020), a post-inter­net per­for­man­ce strea­med onli­ne, and met lief­de, a dan­ce pie­ce about the poli­tics of love. 

She was selec­ted for the inter­na­ti­o­nal encoun­ters of FTA (2023) and the Common Lab (2024) for her per­for­man­ce, Kabylifornia. Alongside her per­so­nal cre­a­ti­ons, she has wor­ked as a dra­ma­tur­ge for artists from dif­fe­rent prac­ti­ces inclu­ding Joey Elmaleh, Lucie Yerlès, Juliette Chevalier, Antonin Compère, Lisa Cogniaux, Lorena Spindler, and Charlotte Brihier.
