RANT (wor­king tit­le) is a solo per­for­man­ce that navi­ga­tes the sen­se, non­sen­se, and mad­ness of the inter­net. It explo­res the ​‘rant’ as a tex­tu­al form that gives voi­ce to a cha­o­tic and aggres­si­ve media cul­tu­re, defi­ned by phe­no­me­na such as rage bait, slop, spam, maxxing, non-stop strea­ming, and the relent­less expo­su­re to ads and click­bait. The per­for­mer is addic­ted to lan­gu­a­ge, to the con­sump­ti­on and pro­duc­ti­on of text, stan­ding at the inter­sec­ti­on of thought­les­s­ness and fury.

The text is devel­o­ped as a sco­re, emp­ha­si­zing musi­ca­li­ty, sound, and rhythm to seek the ten­si­on bet­ween con­trol and its loss. Choreographically, we cre­a­te a world of stran­ge, obses­si­ve rou­ti­nes; it is as if the charac­ter does not seek to sub­due the cha­os of her lan­gu­a­ge through the­se acti­ons, but rather ele­va­tes it into ritu­a­lis­tic gestu­re: a raging ritu­al for manic times.
