In her upco­ming pro­ject, per­for­ma­ti­ve artist Begüm Erciyas resear­ches the role of touch in the­a­tri­cal expe­rien­ces, con­ti­nuing her inves­ti­ga­ti­ons into embo­died per­cep­ti­on and audien­ce enga­ge­ment. During this resi­d­en­cy at Kunstenwerkplaats, she will explo­re how an audience’s hand can be gui­ded through touch — through ima­ges, texts, tac­ti­le surfa­ces, and vibra­ti­ons — pri­o­ri­ti­zing touch over visi­on and invi­ting audien­ces to explo­re, lis­ten, and per­cei­ve with their hands. The aim is to devel­op a dra­ma­tur­gy for a searching hand.
