In a universe torn apart by conflict, lost souls seek to reconnect with their ancestral beliefs. Guided by Mino, the supreme goddess, and the divine mothers, Kongi Milka Mbunga explores the vitality hidden in the past. Through a series of poetic scenes, she discovers the power of mortal existence, illuminated by the sacred essence of their eternal guides. Celles qui manquent is a spiritual quest that celebrates resilience and the deep connection between the past and the present.

This sets the tone for an introspective and moving journey, in which each image represents a facet of the human soul in search of meaning and serenity. Celles qui manquent invites each viewer to reflect on their own existence and discover the timeless power that resides in each of us, supported by the legacy of previous generations.

This performance is the result of her research into the place of black women in African and Western society. Driven by a deep commitment, she has set herself the goal of highlighting the often overlooked role of female warriors who bravely fought against colonization. From the 17th to the end of the 19th century, these historical figures played a crucial role in the resistance movement.

Kongis project is a fascinating exploration that brings together the past and the present to reveal the true history of the Minoans. Through vivid staging, it debunks persistent prejudices that have unfortunately distorted their pre-colonial history, with the aim of bringing to light an authentic and fair narrative, thereby restoring the Minoans to their rightful place in history.
