This week, Simon Asencio is wor­king at Elsenor on a play inspi­red by the 1981 poli­ti­cal and litera­ry con­fe­ren­ce Left/​Write! (San Francisco). The work fol­lows the tra­di­ti­on of poets the­a­tre: a form of rea­ding the­a­tre — blen­ding pro­se poe­try, archi­val mate­ri­al, and con­ver­sa­ti­o­nal forms — enac­ted by the audience.

Simon wants to test out some scè­nes and invi­tes you to par­ti­ci­pa­te tomor­row, Friday, May 8, from 11:00 to 14:00, in Pianofabriek (Elsenor).

The for­mat is open: we will col­lec­ti­ve­ly deci­de how to dis­tri­bu­te the parts and roles. You are free to acti­ve­ly read or sim­ply lis­ten. The sce­nes vary in sca­le, from dia­lo­gues bet­ween two peo­p­le to lar­ger ensem­bles of fifteen participants.

While he hopes you can join for the enti­re ses­si­on, you are also wel­co­me to drop in for a shor­ter peri­od (pre­fe­ra­bly at least an hour to get a good sen­se of the dura­ti­on and the expe­rien­ce).
You can join wha­te­ver time suits you, the­re is no need to be the­re from the start.
